Middle Tennessee State Online Course Design

While at MTSU, I taught a total of 11 classes. Two of those classes, ENGL 3620-D03: Professional Writing and ENGL 3605-D01: Applied Writing, were taught online through a teaching mentorship I had with Dr. Erica Stone. While Dr. Stone built the course shells, I found them to be an invaluable example of how to design a course for online learners concerning organization and guiding students from one step to the next as seamlessly as possible through the features built into the LMS.

Additionally, these courses encouraged me to consider the document design of syllabi, schedules, course slides, and assignment sheets, and it helped me understand accessibility considerations such as alt text, typeface, and the use of color coding. I continue to apply these considerations to the design of my current courses.
